Rules Of Play
1. General
The Management reserves the right to refuse entry if the maximum safe capacity of the play area has been reached. In such cases, refunds are at the discretion of management.
2. Supervision & Responsibility
- The Village Play Café is not a childcare facility.
- All children must be supervised by a responsible adult (18+) at all times.
- Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for the safety, behaviour and wellbeing of the children in their care.
- Staff may intervene if behaviour is unsafe, disruptive or inappropriate.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask any guest to leave if necessary to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.
3. Age Policy
- Our play area is designed specifically for children aged 0–5 years.
- Older siblings are welcome; however, they must play calmly and safely and must not disrupt, dominate, or compromise the experience of younger children.
- Staff reserve the right to restrict older children’s access to certain equipment if behaviour is deemed unsuitable for the environment.
- Adults must ensure older siblings understand and follow the play rules at all times.
4. Play Rules
- Socks must be worn by both children and adults in designated play areas.
- Shoes and outside food are not permitted inside play zones.
- Hot drinks are permitted in play areas; however, they must be kept securely and placed out of reach of children at all times. Customers are responsible for ensuring drinks are positioned safely to prevent spills or injury.
- The Village Play Café accepts no responsibility for burns or injuries resulting from hot drinks not being handled or positioned safely.
- Play equipment must be used appropriately and as intended.
- Rough play, running, climbing on non-play furniture, or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
- Respectful behaviour towards other children, adults and staff is expected at all times.
5. Health & Hygiene
- For the safety of all guests, please do not visit if you or your child are unwell or showing symptoms of illness (including fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, contagious rashes, or infectious conditions).
- Any accidents, injuries or hazards must be reported to a member of staff immediately.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears unwell.
6. Liability
- Play activities involve inherent risks. By entering The Village Play Café, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
- The Village Play Café will not be liable for injuries resulting from failure to supervise children, misuse of equipment, inappropriate behaviour, burns caused by hot drinks not handled safely, or loss, theft or damage to personal belongings.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.
7. Food & Drink Policy
- The Village Play Café operates a strict no outside food or drink policy.
- This includes baby food pouches, snacks, bottles, drinks and any other consumable items not purchased on the premises.
- Baby bottles and formula are permitted. Hot water can be provided upon request for the preparation of baby formula.
- This policy is in place to protect the integrity of our allergen management procedures and to ensure accurate allergen tracing, cross-contamination control and food safety compliance.
- Only food and beverages prepared and purchased at The Village Play Café may be consumed on the premises, unless prior written agreement has been given by management.
- We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment; however, we take all reasonable precautions in accordance with our allergen matrix and food safety procedures.
- Guests must inform staff of any allergies or dietary requirements before ordering.
- Management reserves the right to remove any outside food or drink brought onto the premises. Failure to comply may result in refusal of service and/or being asked to leave without refund.
8. Bookings & Parties
- Party and private event bookings require a deposit to secure the date.
- Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
- Final guest numbers must be confirmed in advance as specified in your booking agreement.
- We reserve the right to charge based on confirmed numbers.
9. Late Arrival & No-Show Policy
- All bookings are valid only for the specific session date and time selected at the point of booking.
- If you arrive late, your session will still end at the originally scheduled finish time. Late arrivals will not result in extended play time or partial refunds.
- Failure to attend a booked session without prior notice will be treated as a no-show.
- No-shows are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Refunds will not be issued for missed sessions due to change of plans, illness, traffic delays or personal circumstances.
- Transfers may be offered at the sole discretion of management and are not guaranteed.
10. Photography
- Photographs or videos may occasionally be taken for promotional purposes.
- Please inform a member of staff upon arrival if you do not wish for you or your child to appear in promotional materials.
11. Damages
- Parents/guardians may be held responsible for any deliberate or negligent damage caused by children in their care.
12. Amendments
- The Village Play Café reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most current version will always be available on-site and/or online.
