About Village Play Cafe

Welcome to The Village - a Montessori-inspired play cafe thoughtfully created for children aged 0-5 years.

We chose the name The Village because of the saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." We truly believe that every family deserves a village around them - a place of support, connection and community. The Village is more than just a play space; it's somewhere parents, carers and little ones can feel seen, supported and welcomed.

Built around our simple philosophy of Coffee * Play * Parties, we've created a space where grown-ups can enjoy great coffee, little ones can explore and learn through play, and special celebrations can be shared with the people who matter most.

Our environment is thoughtfully designed with Montessori principles in mind - encouraging independence, creativity and natural curiosity. Through calm, open-ended play opportunities, children are free to explore at their own pace, build confidence and develop essential life skills in a nurturing setting.

At The Village, we aim to create a warm and inclusive space where all families feel comfortable. Whether you're meeting friends, making new ones, or simply enjoying a moment to yourself while your child plays, we want you to feel at home here.

About Jake

Hi, I'm Jake, founder of The Village Play Cafe.

I've worked with children since leaving school at 16, and for the past 10 years I've run a children's party and events company, specialising in inclusive and SEND-friendly celebrations. Creating safe, joyful and welcoming environments for children of all abilities has always been at the heart of what I do.

The idea for The Village came from seeing a real need in Crosby for a clean, calm and community-focused play space for families. I wanted to create somewhere that felt inclusive and supportive - not just somewhere for children to play, but somewhere families could truly feel at home.

I have a real passion for Montessori-inspired play and the way it encourages independence, creativity and confidence in young children. Every part of The Village has been thoughtfully designed with that in mind.

I'm so excited to be part of The Village Play Cafe journey.

I've designed our menu with simplicity at its heart - creating fresh, family-friendly dishes that everyone can enjoy. As someone who's always been a bit of a picky eater myself (no onions? no problem!), I understand how important it is to keep food approachable and stress-free for families.

Our focus is on simple, quality ingredients served in a way that feels comforting and welcoming for both children and grown-ups.

While I may be early in my cooking journey, I'm passionate about learning, growing and creating food that brings people together.
